Uganda, Rwanda Organise Joint Exhibition

Date: 5th-June 2007

AFROEDUCARE’S (U) Ltd’s public relations officer Fred Busingye has said: "After joining the East African Community, Rwanda has embarked on a move to shift from the French syllabus to English.

He says Rwanda and the education ministry are organising an exhibition and conference under the theme, "the role of education in transforming Africa". It is scheduled to take place at the School of Finance and Banking, in Kigali from June 25-28.

The exhibition is a result of the recommendations of the Joint Permanent Commission between Uganda and Rwanda held in 2006.

The preparations for the event are being handled by the ministries of education for both countries.

Afroeducare, an education marketing firm, has been mandated to plan, mobilise and ensure the successful participation of Uganda’s representatives.

The Ministry of Education’s public relations officer, Aggrey Kibenge, says the event will focus on strengthening co-operation and networking of the education sector in the two countries.

It will bring together private and public institutions, schools and universities, both from Uganda and Rwanda exhibiting their unique activities and services.

He urges the different institutions and schools that will represent Uganda to guarantee a good display of Uganda’s competitive advantage in providing quality education.

The president of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, is expected to officiate at the event.
